A new thoracic interfascial plane block as anesthesia for difficult weaning due to ribcage pain in critically ill patients.

چکیده
Interfascial plane block of anterior and lateral cutaneous branches of intercostal nerves, known as pecto-intercostal fascial plane block (PIFB) and serratus--intercostal plane block (SIFB), is an anesthetic procedure for ribcage anesthesia not previously reported in the setting of critical care. A similar anesthetic technique has proven adequate pain control during and after abdominal and breast surgery. Patients with chest trauma and rib fractures or patients with endothoracic drainage tubes (EDTs) often need deep sedoanalgesia, hindering weaning. The use of ultrasoundguided interfascial plane block in critically ill patients opens up several possibilities to improve pain control, decreasing the need of other forms of conventional analgesia.

The Erector Spinae Plane Block: A Novel Analgesic Technique in Thoracic Neuropathic Pain.
Thoracic neuropathic pain is a debilitating condition that is often poorly responsive to oral and topical pharmacotherapy. The benefit of interventional nerve block procedures is unclear due to a paucity of evidence and the invasiveness of the described techniques. In this report, we describe a novel interfascial plane block, the erector spinae plane (ESP) block, and its successful application ...
متن کامل[Axillary local anesthetic spread after the thoracic interfacial ultrasound block - a cadaveric and radiological evaluation].
BACKGROUND Oral opioid analgesics have been used for management of peri- and postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing axillary dissection. The axillary region is a difficult zone to block and does not have a specific regional anesthesia technique published that offers its adequate blockade. METHODS After institutional review board approval, anatomic and radiological studies were conduct...

Study Design This paper was a single center-based retrospective study with prospective data collection. Purpose Compared with other surgeries, limited options are available for perioperative pain management in spinal surgery. Therefore, we aimed to identify new pain management in this study. Overview of Literature The thoracolumbar interfascial plane (TLIP) block has been reported to provid...

Regional anesthesia for non-obstetric surgery in parturients is a method to decrease patient and fetal risk during general anesthesia. Thoracic interfascial nerve block can be used as an analgesic technique for surgical procedures of the thorax. The Pecs II block is an interfascial block that targets not only the medial and lateral pectoral nerves, but also the lateral cutaneous branch of the i...
